We were quiet for the past week because we lost our beautiful baby Pablo on Monday 11th July . Pablo was OK in the morning and got his first syringe feed as normal. I gave him cuddles and place him on the window as he loved looking out of the window. It made him really happy. When I came to see him for the second feed I found him all stiff and his body arched with his mouth open and gaping. I called our vet immidiatelly and she said to bring him in. So I did. By that point I already knew that Pablo is dying and I didn't want him to suffer or to feel pain. Our vet brought a machine and listened to his heart. I could hear Pablo's heart for the last time and it was slowing down. My vet was really rooting for pablo to get better and I trust her. She confirmed that he is dying and explained to me what will happen ( the process of reptile euthanasia is not very pleasant) . I could not be with Pablo when he got the euthanasia because of the process. I gave Pablo last cuddle and a kiss and said " I am sorry, I love you so much, always"

Then my vet took Pablo away. 

I picked up his body the next day. I walked slowly with Pablo's body in the carrier. I was still talking to Pablo because I believe his soul is here. At home I made up his paw prints into a clay (gently) and I made up a box and carefully placed Pablo in it. I then buried him in my garden under the arch with roses. I could not bring myself to post the update as I had to process it as well. It's difficult when Pablo always waited for me and greeted me first thing in the morning. Now there is only a dark and empty vivarium full of his stuff. I am still looking though and waiting for him to poke his head and move his body to come to me. I love Pablo enormously as I love every rescue dragon that come into my place. This is the other side of rescuing sick animals. Loosing Pablo made me even more determined doing what am doing. Pablo managed to fight off the Pneumonia and his passing is attributed to the Adenovirus complications . Please look at the photos and remember Pablo .
